Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How often should I wash my car?

Q. How often should I wash my car?

A. To keep your vehicle looking its best, every 2-3 weeks. At least every 2nd wash should be a “top wash” as this offers paint protection and prevents road grime and pollutants damaging your paintwork.

Q. Do drive-thru car washes damage cars?

A. It depends. Systems like ours at Geraldton Car Wash are “touch free”. Your car will never be in contact with rotating brushes or oscillating cloth straps that can cause damage when they’re worn, or dirty.

Q. Can you hand wash and detail may car?

A. Absolutely. At our main Branch Office at 229 Lester Ave, we provide professional car detailing services. We offer different levels of cleaning, at a range of affordable rates.

Q. When should I remove bugs, tree sap or bird droppings from my vehicle?

A. As soon as you possibly can. These substances contain chemicals that damage paintwork. Take care to use the right product and technique during removal to protect your cars finish. If you’re not sure, give us a call - we can advise you.

Q. When are your facilities open?

A. We’re open 24/7, and we have staff on hand at Lester Ave Mon-Fri. 9 am to 3 pm.

Q. Will soaps and waxes applied by the car wash hurt the environment?

A. No! Geraldton Car Wash uses only high quality cleaning products that are biodegradable. While these products are more expensive, they are essential to reduce environmental impacts.

Q. Am I better off to wash my car myself? At least it would be cheaper!

A. Studies show that it’s not cheaper to wash cars manually. Up to 7 times more water is used. Good quality DIY detergents, polishes, sponges and cloth are expensive. Then there’s potential for accidental paintwork damage leading to expensive repairs, or lowered re-sale value. Add the time it takes, and we think DIY just doesn’t add up compared to a drive-thru wash.
